Modern cuckoo clocks are a great way to add personality to a home, giving you all the fun of a traditional cuckoo clock, but with a clean, contemporary design.  Our curation nods to the classic Swiss chalet and Black Forest styles, but are minimalist and sleek for the modern interior.  Contemporary cuckoo clocks are a perfect accessory to add character to your home and definitely become a talking point with your friends and family.

You might never have thought of owning a cuckoo clock, but they are fun, quirky centrepieces that can be used in any room in your home.

Designed to make you smile

Our featured collection of contemporary cuckoo clocks is all beautifully crafted in Italy by heritage clock producer, Domeniconi, who use woods, metals, marbles and lacquered finishes to make quality timepieces designed to make you smile every day.

A contemporary take on a Swiss chalet, this super cute cuckoo clock with beautifully proportioned pendulum comes in a yellow, white or pink lacquered finish. The Titti 2077 is a fun design equally at home in a kid’s bedroom, kitchen or living room.

Like all Domeniconi cuckoo clocks, it has a built-in light sensor allowing your cuckoo to rest at night and not disturb you, so can be used in any room in the house.

Make a big statement

A real statement piece, the Cucu 373 design comes in black or white lacquered metal, stainless steel or gold leaf and is 88cm in height.  A reinterpretation of the classic “Black Forest” cuckoo clock, this best selling design works well over a mantelpiece, in an entrance hall or dining room.

Perfect proportions

We love the proportions of the Zuba 217, a tall chalet cuckoo clock with oversize pendulum and large numbers on the clock face.  This version has a birch frame, with black hands and pendulum and a white cuckoo.

Add luxe marbles

Introduce the beauty of marble to your home with the Cioni 284, a contemporary luxe cuckoo clock made from stunning white carrara, levanto red or black marquinia marbles.  This clock is perfect in any room.

An architectural influence

This contemporary clock has a square white lacquered structure, with a cuckoo living in a simple natural oak house.  It is a versatile design which can be used as a wall or table clock and is a tribute to the Italian master of design, Ettore Sottsass and his iconic architecture.

Definitely not on the shelf

This rectangular design by Domeniconi is ideal for a mantlepiece, sideboard or shelf.  With essential minimalist lines it is made from a pearl white lacquered MDF frame, with a lemon yellow top and coral red base, housing a cute white cuckoo.

A history in clock making

Contemporary cuckoo clocks

Back in 1968 marks the time when the Domeniconi and Diamantini families started to make clocks in Fossombrone in the Marche region of Italy.  The company was started by Eraldo Diamantini and Antonio Domeniconi, the uncle of our House of Dome co-founder Dan Domeniconi. In the early days, Dan’s father, Vinicio, was instrumental in creating some of the iconic designs the company became so well-known for.

Over the years Diamantini & Domeniconi built a reputation for creating beautiful, contemporary and iconic clocks – from grandfather clocks back in the early days to the hugely popular contemporary cuckoo clocks it became so synonymous with.

TIme ticked by and 2021 marked the evolution of this family’s passion for creating interesting and beautiful clocks, with the launch of F.lli Domeniconi, now steered by Antonio’s son, Gianluca.
