The Existence collection comprises a range of freestanding totally metal bookcases, which are available in different sizes from one layer to 7 layers high and in 2 different metals/finishes. Complementing the freestanding options, there is also an Existence Wall collection available, supplied with a wall fixing system for wall installation.
What does De Castelli say?
Why should bookcases always be straight, long, vertical, right-angle planes to keep nothing but books perfectly straight and composed? And don’t we like to keep a few small objects, keepsakes, some useless artefacts from fundamental phases of our existence, among the books? Available in free-standing and wall-mounted versions, Existence arose as an overlapping of small, varied boxes, like the experiences and keys to one’s life: a totem-bookshelf designed to contain books and objects in a single space, built around similar modules that repeat, though the same form never appears twice.
De Castelli International Shipping Fee
Please note, we do charge an international shipping fee in addition to the item cost as detailed. De Castelli products are made to order in your specified finish and size and we arrange for them to be shipped across from Italy whenever your order is ready and we deal with all customs paperwork before they are received at our UK warehouse for checking and onward courier or white glove delivery.
As the range varies tremendously in size and weight, we have individual shipping charges for each product.  This charge will be displayed under your product selection as ‘International Shipping Fee’, with a check box to complete, before the item can be added to your basket.  You will see the cost of this product specific International Shipping Fee will be added to the cost of your item and displayed as one total when you view it in your basket.
However, if you order multiple items from the range and we are quoted a lower cost of shipping for the combined order, we will provide you with a refund on the difference. This will happen post order confirmation.

Please note: Italian manufacturers are generally closed during August and Christmas and there may be times of the year which will impact production and delivery times.Â
Delivery method:
Once your order is placed, we will confirm the anticipated delivery date and keep you informed of its progress whilst it is handcrafted for you. When the item reaches our UK warehouse, our delivery team will be in touch with you to arrange a convenient date for our white glove delivery service. White glove delivery is our premium delivery service and which we use for our large furniture items. It includes delivery to your specified room, careful placement or installation, checking the item for any signs of damage, plus removal of any packaging if you require.
Will It Fit?
It is important that you are confident the item can fit through your entrance, hallway, stairwell or any area that it may need to pass through so that it can be placed exactly where you require it, ready for you to enjoy. Please take a good look at our Will It Fit? Guide to assist you check that you have sufficient door width/space, as it is your responsibility to ensure the item can be successfully delivered.
